We are all stars in our own ways and we are best when we shine , we encourage others to shine. This features a piece of public sculpture in stainless steel, generated and designed with community in Scotland, and my good friend Elspeth Bennie Artist blacksmith who constructed and installed it. It celebrates all the stars in the local area and wider universe, we are all made of basically the same stuff ,,so LETS SHINE TOGETHER !!

I found The Pumphouse in the Orkney Island of Hoy beautiful , solid and inspiring. A really interesting part of local history and a testament to Scotland's tradition of Engineering and construction. At last more renewable alternatives are being developed here now, but I so appreciate this unique "sculptural"/ functional environment, and I enjoy the imagery and word play it ignites in my mind , maybe lift a smile or two here and there and for some warm the heart ?

We were delighted on our last visit to "The Old Man of Hoy" to find he was sporting super trendy Green Hair , we hadn't seen this before but all thought it suited him well. Usually viewed from the boat by most, its great to look down from the cliffs and get in closer. Popular with climbers who have to time their decent, ascent and back with the tides , Beautiful, Rugged, and Wild he is.

Scotland has a long history of engineering and Shipbuilding. The love of mechanics and machines "Built to Last" and the "Time and Care" it takes to maintain everything and keep it all in good working order, tis a thing of Beauty to many.

Think this one speaks for its self ?!

Rocks, rocks everywhere, majestic characters like "The Old Man of Hoy" sea stack, to ancient settlements and Stone circles like "Ring of Brodgar " mysterious and wonder full. Orcadians are master "Dry Stone Dykers " and the beauty of their art is all around, the old houses often have stone slab roofs, last a good while . However the cliffs get eroded by the elements and the face of the coast changes as the stones roll in and out with the tides , constant ebb and flow, love wild places and capturing the constant changes of light and weather. Glad to share it.

Reflecting on the contrast between this heavy suit and free diving with just your body . Bit like a space suit.
