The basket I depicted in this painting has been dragged from home to home with me for over 35 years! I've used it many times as a prop for my art. Enjoy!
Koalas are so cute. To touch they are soft and in the wild they are calm and quiet if not disturbed. Mimosa flower is beautiful and I love it's softness with the narrow leaves which bring lovely contrast.

Easter is coming up and I did some research to find out what flowers are meaningful for this time of year. I wanted to create a floral design that is positive because that is what Easter means to me. Jesus came to set me free!
This little foal is the apple of his fathers eye. Mother mare is super proud and pleased as well. But little fella looks a bit mischievous and ready to head off on many adventures.
On my birthday, I was inspired to set up a still life with a piece of my birthday cake. It was a fun project to find bits and pieces for the still life and then to paint the cake quickly so my 6yo could eat it. :) All the while I painted the piece of cake Tim kept asking if he could eat it yet and please hurry up mummy! It proved to be a challenge when the cake was gone and there was a hole so to speak in my still life. It's amazing how colours affect each other.

Beginnings in the Journey of Life.
My aim is to portray the beginning of a journey. The little girl is entering a garden filled with wonder and mystery.
The journey of life is filled with beginnings. Numerous beginnings. Beginnings filled with hope, mystery, wonder, excitement, anticipation and probably much, much more.
As youngsters, we begin by learning and exploring. I hope we retain that curiosity throughout our lives and the many beginnings which follow.
A new beginning may present itself unexpectedly, leaving us feeling anxious, excited or vulnerable. Regardless, beginnings are to be embraced. The lessons to be learned are valuable, launching us into new beginnings filled with what was previously out of our reach.
