Description: During my service as an SO11 Detective Police Artists, whilst based at New Scotland Yard, I found time to sketch some police orientated cartoons, these cartoons by Boris (my Police nickname) were very popular, and this one was the one, The Quick Changeover, was the one I seem to be remembered for the most. The Quick Changeover refers to when you had a period of eight hours between two working shift rotas.

Description: These illustrations are based from some of my childhood memories of growing up in the coal mining village of Pegswood in the North East of England. “Pinnie” is the name for the colourful apron women in mining villages in the North East of England wore constantly throughout their working days, and the term “Hinnies” is the name most Geordie men, affectionately called their woman in the mining villages, hence the name of the series Pinnie Hinnies. During Lock Down, I started sketching these Pinnie Hinnies, which I had created on my iPad Pro 12.9” using an Apple Pencil in the Procreate drawing App.
