The second-generation variant leaned more toward practicality, but also had the option of packing a 327 cubic inch small-block V8 rated up to 300 hp in 1964. In 1965, a performance version of the V8 was available that pushed it up to 350 hp. This trend of growing engines continued over the next few years, culminating in a 396 V8 big block rated up to 375 hp.

The cubes used in competition were selected by the Hungarian inventor of the Rubik's Cube, Ernő Rubik. The fastest solving time from three different cubes was taken as the competitor's score, and Minh Thai from the United States was the winner with the best time of 22.95. First prize was a gold-plated Rubik's Cube trophy. This meet was the first officially recognized competition of its kind with the next competition held in 2003 in Canada, though many differences to the structure and many other puzzles being added.

Description: Smallville High School, or Smallville High for short, is the local high school for grades 9-12 in the rural township of Smallville in Lowell County, Kansas. The town was named after Ezra Small, who founded the town in 1831 and the bhigh school wasn't built until sometime in the '40s. The school's varsity football team is the Smallville Crows, for which Clark played during his senior year, and its school colors are red and gold. The school football field, the Arnold Stadium, is named after famed coach Walt Arnold.
Description: Powder River, Wyoming is little more than a ghost town these days, but it used to have two restaurants, a motel, and a gas station, supporting not just locals and travelers along the U.S. 20 highway, but also the Standard Oil refinery. Now all that remains is an elementary school, a post office and a handful of very rural residences. One of those restaurants was the Tumble Inn, a roadhouse in every sense of the word. The log cabin housing the Tumble Inn was moved to Powder River from Ten Sleep, Wyoming, in 1923 and operated as several businesses before the Tumble Inn took up residence in 1942. With a full bar and kitchen, the Inn kept passersby happy for decades, but after the refinery closed, things slowed and topless dancers were added.

Kräuterlikör is an herbal or spiced liqueur, also known as "half-bitters" that is traditionally served neat as a digestif. In contrast to bitters, they have a higher sugar content, expressed as invert sugar, and typically contain 15% to 44% alcohol by volume. Mixtures of alcohol and bitter substances were used as medicine to increase bile and gastric acid secretion; however, the higher proportion of alcohol and sugar is not conducive to digestion. Nowadays, Kräuterlikör is also served as an ingredient of different cocktails and long drinks, though Kräuterlikör dates back to the Middle Ages.

It was operated by Jacob Roos and, after his death, by George Roos, until 1892, when it was sold to Leonard Burgwerger. Burgwerger razed the buildings and built a new brewery on the site. This was the start of the Iroquois Brewing Company. Iroquois survived prohibition by brewing soda and near beer, and reopened shortly after prohibition ended in April 1933. Iroquois grew and prospered after prohibition and became the largest brewer in Buffalo.

It was designed with room to be significantly expanded, and manufactured both as a top-oiler and side-oiler, and in displacements between 332 cu in and 428 cu in.The Ford single overhead cam (SOHC) 427 V8 engine, familiarly known as the "Cammer," was released in 1964 in an effort to maintain stock car racing dominance by seeking to counter the enormously large block 426 Hemi "elephant" engines. The FE 427 block was closer dimensionally to the smaller 392 cu. in. first generation FirePower Hemi.

Description: The Blazer's story began in 1969 when the first K5 rolled out to compete with the similar sport utility rigs on the market. Based on full-size pickup truck frame underpinnings, the Blazer was larger than the competition with an interior that could be configured to hold one to five passengers and for an open-air experience, the rig's fiberglass top could be removed. Options included air conditioning, power steering, power brakes, push-button radio, heavy-duty shocks and springs and an auxiliary battery. In its first year of production, customers could only get their Blazers with four-wheel drive, but chose from three different engines ranging from a 4.1-liter inline six-cylinder to a 5.7-liter V8.
Description: Road to Ruin is the fourth studio album by American punk rock band the Ramones, released on September 21, 1978, it was the first Ramones album to feature new drummer Marky, who replaced Tommy. The cover artwork originated by a Ramones fan who illustrated the members performing with a lobster claw coming out of an amplifier and a snake around their feet. Following the drawing's completion in '77, the band decided to make it the Road to Ruin cover. This sketch did, however, include original drummer Tommy, so the drawing had to be modified to depict Marky instead, and was further edited to remove the snakes and lobster claw.
Description: The High Time Tavern opened its doors in 1935 in the small Arizona border town of Nogales, making it one of the earliest watering holes in the Arizona Territory after statehood. Aside from a full bar with an extensive tequila menu, High Time ran a full kitchen that made it a popular stop for anyone passing through between Tucson and Mexico. The tavern had live music every night on their respectably sized stage, most commonly featuring country and honky-tonk artists. When they closed up shop is unclear, but it appears that they were still hanging around in the late '80s. While they may be long gone, any business that can make a 50-year run is a success in my book.
Description: Located at the headwaters of the Colorado River and situated on the shores of Grand Lake, the Town of Grand Lake was founded in 1881 as the western gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park. Sitting at an elevation of 8,369 feet above sea level, Grand Lake is Colorado’s largest natural lake and home to some of the best fresh water fishing in all of North America. The lake's gold-medal waters have no shortage of mackinaw (lake trout), kokanee (sockeye) salmon, as well as rainbow, brook, German brown, and cutthroat trout. While many fish year round, Grand Lake is also known as the "Snowmobiling Capital of Colorado," so it's a great winter destination as well as when it snows, it snows a lot!
