This is a digital interpretation of the beautiful town of Malcesine, which sits on the shores of Lake Garda, in Northern Italy. This is based on my own photograph.

This is a digital painting from my own photograph. The Valley of the Nuns is hidden away in the steep Madeiran mountains. In 1566 the nuns from the Santa Clara convent in the capital Funchal fled from pirates attacking Funchal and found seclusion here. Until relatively recently, the village could only be accessed with considerable difficulty due to the cliffs and peaks surrounding it. A tunnel southwards in the direction of Funchal now offers safe access to the valley.

This drawing of a daffodil with Zentangle patterms was drawn with fineliner, and the background added digitally. One of my series of Zentangle pictures, which include flowers, animals and landscapes

This is a view of the River Swale just below the Falls at Richmond. North Yorkshire. In winter the river is a torrent, but in summer it drops to a gentle flow, exposing it's rocky bed and inviting paddlers to dip in. This was painted from my own photograph.

I have a very soft spot for the hippo: I know they are very dangerous animals, but they do also look cute. Definitely one to admire from a safe distance, or as an image like this one. This image is from a Zentangle drawing done with a fineliner pen.
