Description: The New York Jazz Festival debuted on Randall's Island on August 24 and 25, 1956 with a similar design as this version. With a very ‘sketchy’ promotional graphics poster, in my opinion, this was the first Jazz festival in New York. The ‘fest’ was promoted with an 8.5 x 11 poor put together a booklet with this colorful design that today you can find it on sale on eBay. I designed my own taking the original concept and elevated it to a more eye appealing. The lineup back then included Billie Holiday, Count Basie, Dave Brubeck, Gerry Mulligan, Joe Williams, Erroll Garner, Gene Krupa, Coleman Hawkins. Louis Armstrong didn’t make it until next year.

Description: This design touches me in a very special way. I have family that lost properties back in California on fires and today (09/09/2020) 22 fires in 5 states are consuming hundreds of thousands of acres. The Hotshot Crew is a group of 20-22 brave firemen’s that every year fight all these fires in the forest. They are underpaid and underestimate but that doesn’t stop these brave heroes to be in the frontline of all these fires. For all of them, this is my tribute for what they do for us and our land.

Description: Mafalda is an Argentine comic strip written and drawn by cartoonist Joaquín Salvador Lavado, better known by his pen name Quino. The strip features a 6-year-old girl named Mafalda, who reflects the Argentinian middle class and progressive youth, is concerned about humanity and world peace, and has serious attitude problems but in an innocent manner. The comic strips ran from 1964 to 1973 and were very popular in Latin America, Europe, Quebec, and Asia, leading to two animated cartoon series and a book.
