Originally formed by the Adena Culture, maintained by the Hopewell, and later remodeled by the Fort Ancient people, the Great Serpent Mound in Peebles, Ohio, is the largest serpent effigy mound in the world. Located on the Serpent Mound crater plateau, the mound is 1,348-feet-long and about 3 feet high. The soil for the earthworks was carried up from the Ohio Bush Creek below and the mound was built in stages. While there is some evidence that the mound was intended to be an astrological calendar, the actual angles are slightly off (by less than 2 degrees of arc) and also require viewing positions that aren't well marked.

It's a Rad Tech life. You can spell radical without rad, and you can't spell party without RT. Scrubs with barium stains, aching back from the c-arm and immobile bariatric patients, or learning patience by explaining how you want the patient to be positioned for the third time it's a good life. Outpatient or in hospital, it's all the same, saving lives one x-ray at a time.
Step on up for the worse drinks ever served. In the fluoro suite, we'll serve you barium at both ends, coming and going, in and out. Sure, it may taste terrible, but it does light up the radiograph and enables us to see all sorts of anatomy better. And just when you think you can't take anymore, we'll find a new orifice to top off. All a part of the service in the Fluoroscopy Cafe.

Bremsstrahlung, or "braking radiation", is the radiation produced free electrons when they are deflected by electric fields or nuclei of atoms. This is how radiological technologist create x-rays. We throw a lot of electrons at a target made of tungsten, and as those electrons interact with the target, we get x-ray radiation. So, got bremsstrahlung?
