Description: This song has been part of my life soundtrack since I first heard it on the Petra Praise 2 album, it is one of those songs that somehow gives words when no words come to mind. Like a Taizé tune the melody carries our deepest prayers higher and further; the words from the ancient Psalm leads us gently into a deeper relationship and conversation with God. Linda Whitmer-Bell kindly gave me permission to use her interpretation of the Psalm, please do listen to the Petra version of the song. Linda wrote "What an awesome picture of worship in the heavenly throne room! To think that my prayers might play a part in the drama portrayed in John's Revelation - yet the Psalmist too asks that his prayers be "counted as incense",

Description: The poem was written by co-founder of the Northumbria Community, Andy Raine and Neil Arnold. It tells of how Aidan would ask people if they knew about God. If they said 'no' he would work beside them & tell them about Jesus, if they said 'yes' he would encourage them to love God more.
Description: The illuminated manuscript known as the Lindisfarne Gospels were made on Lindisfarne by a monk called Eadfrith between 698 and 721. He created it ‘for God and for St Cuthbert’. The book contains the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John: the four Evangelists. The text of the Lindisfarne Gospels is in Latin with a word-by-word translation into Old English added between the lines in the 10th century. It is the oldest surviving translation of the Gospels into the English language. I have included the word ‘beginning’ to show that the roots of my work lie in the labours of artists who committed their gifting to God, I aim to do the same, ‘For the glory of God alone’.

Description: In the 8th century Eadfrid, a monk of Lindisfarne, created the Lindisfarne Gospels. Mary Fleeson through her artwork is taking the messages of the Gospels to a new audience today and keeping the thoughts and words of Christian worship alive today. We aim to offer an artform which draws the viewer into an experience of prayer, meditation and blessing. Our inspiration is also drawn from the rich Celtic spirituality of Northumbria; our Christian faith and the beautiful environment of Holy Island. We aim to follow the great Monastic Scriptorium tradition of producing pieces of artwork that give glory to God and help His people to worship.
