Description: In death, there is life. For even life finds a way To break through The hardest surfaces. Sometimes living with invisible illness (mental illness, chronic pain, etc) can suck the life out of us, and we feel like we're breaking apart... But sometimes, for new things to grow within, the older things might break to make room. Even if you feel like you're falling to pieces, something beautiful is working its way into your life. Remember to breathe.
Description: Kintsugi is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with lacquer dusted or mixed with powdered gold, silver, or platinum. The idea behind this is that even though the object is broken, it can still look uniquely beautiful upon reassembly. Throughout life, many of us experience shattering moments that break or tear us. It takes time, but we piece everything back together as best as we can. It's okay to fall apart. The pieces will still fit, as long as you take the time to put them back together. Made with Sakura Micron pens, Prismacolor color pencils, and copic markers.
Description: Killed my arthritis making this, but very rewarding in the end. Originally a comical thing that crossed my mind when I got black ink on my hands from making a picture, but as the words settled in my mind it took on an alternative meaning: "Be careful of the things you say" "Words actually can hurt" "Your words have weight" Sakura Micron pens on 5x7 card
