Tapestries
Description: Snakes are believed to know the secrets of a death that leads to rebirth. Periodically they shed their skin. The old skin must be shed before the new one can come. Similarly in our lives, in order to create something new, there must first be destruction. In order to live the lives that we want, in order to create the world we want to live in we must first destroy everything that holds us back. Until you understand your obstacles, or as I like to say, contrast, you won’t know what you really have. That contrast is what makes our lives beautiful. You appreciate love because you have experienced loss. Create. Destroy.
Description: We have zippers on our clothes, our backpacks, our purses. They are used, essentially, to keep things contained and safe. What happens when we open that zipper? We have the ability to open ourselves up. We bare our nakedness to the world. Shoe yourself and the world around you the real you. Step into that bravely and empower yourself. Build yourself up. Continue unzipping and melting away the layers until you find who you really are. Eventually you will come to the core of you.
Description: Bone of my bone. Blood of my blood. This art was created with the intent to connect and honor ancestors known and unknown. How can we be at peace with ourselves if we refuse to be at peace with who and where we come from? Acknowledging the past can help to understand the present. This art print can be placed on an altar, sacred space, or in the home as a reminder of loves one past and present, known and unknown.
