Description: Peaches Records & Tapes was a Los Angeles-based chain of record superstores, some as large as 15,000 square feet. They were known for its vast selection, with many locations in buildings the size of a typical grocery store, reportedly stocking $500,000 in inventory. Peaches were also known for in-store events with bands and artists, huge murals of the latest album covers on the side of its buildings and for selling records from fruit-crates. The first store opened on Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles in 1975 and later that year, a second was opened in Atlanta. At its peak, Peaches had 50 stores in 22 cities with over 2,000 employees. In June 1981, Peaches filed a petition for bankruptcy under Chapter 11 citing $20 million in debt.

Description: Founded in 1957, Holman-Moody was for years the official racing contractor for Ford as they race prepped GT40s, A/FX Mustangs, Cobras, Falcons, and various stock cars for NASCAR, NHRA and numerous other auto racing series from their shop in Charlotte, North Carolina. They prepared race cars that were driven by some of the best drivers in the world and would eventually transition from racing team support to an all out racing factory. Now Holman-Moody was not only building and racing their own cars, they were building complete, turn-key race cars and selling them to other teams.

Before the party ended, Pontiac served up one last round of the top-shelf stuff and called it "The 10th Anniversary Limited Edition." Along with its special paint treatment, graphics, wheels, and more, this would be among the last of the Trans Ams offered with the "T/A 6.6" 400 engine. As a collectible car from the '70s, the anniversary Trans Am stands out in terms of desirability and value.
Description: R.A. and F.D. Stranahan are essentially the founders of Champion Spark Plug Company. Sort of. At the very least, they ended up with the patent on the Champion name which they legally and wisely used to eventually create the largest spark plug manufacturing company in the world. But it certainly didn’t start out that way. More than 20 thousand dollars in debt, and with a company that was fledgling along at best, the brothers had little choice but to move to Toledo when Willys-Overland Motor Company offered R.A. and F.D. a contract under which Champion would become the exclusive spark plug of automobiles manufactured at Willys-Overland. The deal came with the stipulation that the Stranahans must make Toledo their home.
Description: What is now known as "STP" was invented by German scientists during WWII as a response to Germany's need for lubrication of the German war-machine vehicles. WWII US Army divisions in Africa that overtook German Afrika Korps vehicles alleged that the Germans employed an engine oil that is now known as STP formulation full-strength in their air-cooled 4-cylinder engines, which successfully traveled through the hot African Desert war-front without seizing due to friction and extreme heat. How the Germans' original chemical synthesis formulation found its way to the U.S. after WWII is not known, but most likely it made that journey along with many of the other German innovations through the distribution of technology through the spoils of war.

Description: Marmons were first designed and built in Indianapolis, Indiana from 1960 to 1963 by Marmon-Herrington, the successor to the Marmon Motor Car Company. When Marmon-Herrington ceased production some time in 1963, a new company, Marmon Motor Company, purchased and revived the Marmon brand to build and sell premium truck designs that Marmon-Herrington had been planning. Just eight trucks were built that first year and the failing Marmon Motor Company was then sold to Space Corporation out of Denton, Texas and manufacturing was relocated to Garland, Texas, a long way from the old Duesenberg assembly plant in Indiana.
Description: Cirith Ungol is an American heavy metal band formed in late 1971 in Ventura, California. Description: Q*bert /ˈkjuːbərt/ is an arcade game developed and published for the North American market by Gottlieb in 1982. It is a 2D action game with puzzle elements that uses isometric graphics to create a pseudo-3D effect. The objective of each level in the game is to change every cube in a pyramid to a target color by making Q*bert, the on-screen character, hop on top of the cube while avoiding obstacles and enemies. Players use a joystick to control the character and when Q*bert collides with an enemy or harmful object in his path, he 'swears' by displaying a comic-style speech bubble and utters an incoherent phrase made of synthesized speech generated by the game's soundchip.
