Another shot of Belle the puppy, this time with her boy, Hudson. Actually she is supposed to belong to my daughter, Tane, but everybody is just enjoying her so much. ( :
Description: My daughter Mila (2) and I were messing around with my camera while she took her bath. Actually, I was kind of experimenting with ISO 1600 and Topaz, seeing as they claim that if you buy their Topaz DeNoise filter you can save yourself thousands because you won't need a better camera or lens, you can just take noisy pictures and run them throught the DeNoise filter. I've been longing for a Canon 5D MkII, but have settled for the DeNoise filter in the meantime... _definitely_ not the same, but also definitely much cheaper!!
Description: Featured in Multi-racial Beauty - August 09 Featured in Capturing Emotion - August 09 - thank you so much to the hosts of those groups!! This image demonstrates the wonders of paracetamol and Johnny (11). Reilly (8 months) is so sick today with a nasty flu but still managed to radiate joy after being given a good dose of meds and big brother love. And I happen to think that Johnny has one of the most beautiful smiles ever. (I may be biased!) Taken using a Canon 400D, natural light.
Description: When I was little I'd spend hours looking at marbles and marvelling at their beautiful intricacies and stunning designs. Their shape, their weight, their endless colours and differences, their shininess and the pleasure of ownership that is the essence of the game of marbles... as an adult I find them no less appealing. Description: Reilly (8 months) and Hudson (4) making my day with this delightful pose. Of course, Reilly was actually about to pinch Hudson's face really hard and then try and bite his cheek, because Hudson is one more toy that he can stuff in his mouth (or try to, anyway.) But it looks kind of cute and affectionate, doesn't it?? ( :

Description: In my three year old's perfect world, all ducklings would be pink. (Actually, EVERYTHING would be pink.) Mila has been going on and on (and on) about wanting a pink duck shirt so eventually I caved and spent hours designing her this one, which has subsequently met with her Majesty's approval and which she will hopefully wear until it is all worn out. Description: Featured in The Woman Photographer Featured in Family Unlimited Featured in Bits and Pieces - September 2009 - thank you so much to the hosts of those groups! A portrait of Grace (6). A nature lover, an art lover, a bird and animal lover - the type of person that puts everyone else at ease.
Description: Mila (2) keeps sitting on the window sill to keep me company while I run on my treadmill and the light behind her is so pretty that I keep wanting to take a shot. In the end I indulged my desire to take yet another portrait of Mila, as I so often do. Now maybe I can run on my treadmill tomorrow without itching to get hold of my camera. I hope so.

Description: Grace (6) and Reilly (10 months) playing with our puppy, Belle, on a lazy afternoon... tried to follow a watercolour tutorial and have definitely learnt some new things. Had a lot of fun along the way, too. Post processing in Photoshop CS2 Placed first in a challenge in the PhotoManipulators Group - thank you very much!! Featured in Children - the Power of Raw Emotion --- October 2009 --- thank you!
Description: Featured in Collective Collage - September 09 - Thank you very much to the hosts! Found this charming little creature in my garden, they frequent my yellowwood trees. I just love how her skin looks like a gorgeous pebble mosaic in miniature. She was about 10 cm head to tail and full of fiery attitude - suitable for a tiny dragon like this one. I reckon God has such fun with each chameleon he creates, placing their tiny jewel tiles in place on their perfect armour...
Description: For some reason my little two year old girly girl, Mila, is passionate about snails... could be the influence of her older wiser brother, Hudson, I suppose. Anyway, after every rainstorm she goes out and ransacks the garden for snails, carrying them around in bunches, or filling plastic containers with hundreds of the slimy little buggers, leaving them oozing snail slime and overflowing behind bedroom doors or under the table, for me to step on later...
Description: I took this in January, when Reilly was just a few weeks old. (He is 9 months old today - time has flown!) Grace (6) was just enjoying her new baby brother in the garden. I did some work on it recently and felt like uploading it. At the time I was kind of busy just adjusting to another newborn, so it languished on my hard drive for a while, but I felt like it deserved to see the light of day. And he's never going to be that small again ( :
Description: My mom, Charmian, is the most AMAZING person - warm, talented, compassionate, energetic, accomplished, enthusiastic, sympathetic, witty, intelligent and loving. She can sail a yacht and play the drums. She cycles in bike races, and thinks nothing of cycling 80km just for fun. She can do woodwork, paint pictures and so many other things that I can't list them all. And she can garden - her garden is extraordinary, full of lavish beauty and breathtakingly delightful. If I was any good at landscape photography I would have shown you just how good she is, but seeing as I'm not, I thought I would show you just one of the hundreds of stunning roses she grows. Taken after a morning of rain at her house in Magoebaskloof, South Africa.
Description: This is just for me, I wanted to get all nine of my ridiculously good looking children in one image. All of these portraits were shot in the last week, so this is truly current. I plan to get me a t-shirt with this on... ( : In order of age they are: Jacob (16) Joshua (14) Perrin (13) Johnny (11) Tane (8) Grace (6) Hudson (4) Mila (2) and Reilly (11 months)
