Originally created with graphite pencils drawn on Fabriano Ingres pastel paper, depicting a leopard in strong contrasting light. I was drawn to the pose of this wild leopard, photographed by a friend in Africa. The pastel paper has a tight canvas weave texture, giving an interesting result.

Born To Run' is created with graphite pencils. An adolescent cheetah cub which is based on a photograph taken by Rick Brind (with his kind permission) gazes off into the distance. It was the eyes which attracted me to this image and I've done my best to recreate the heightened alert look which gives this portrait it's centre of interest.

'Ghost' is a highly detailed,wildlife portrait completed with coloured pencils. It depicts a cougar, also commonly known as the mountain lion, puma, panther or catamount. My title reflects the cougar's secretive and mostly solitary nature, rarely approaching the human population of the Americas where it still roams wild but is rarely seen. Like all of the 'big cats' of the world, sadly it's populations are decreasing rapidly.

'A New Day Dawns' is a graphite pencil drawing on Strathmore Bristol Vellum paper. Created in a photo realistic style there is a high level of detail captured in this piece with extra emphasis placed on the strong morning light and shadows.

Drawn with a high level of realism which took many, many hours to complete, although quite small this drawing is very attractive in its own right and would make a perfect focal point in any small room.
