Tapestries
Description: 'Sitting Pretty' is an original coloured pencil drawing. It depicts a girl wearing a red, polka dot dress, riding a chestnut pony. Many, many hours have gone into this piece, building up layer upon layer in order to produce the rich depth of colour and level of detail associated with coloured pencil works. I've purposefully left the background loose and with a speckled texture in order to help keep the focus of attention on the main subject. The crop makes for an eye catching composition, worthy of gracing the wall of any horse lover or riding enthusiast's home.
Description: This image was painted with flourescent inks, which don't scan or photograph accurately, so this is as close a likeness as I can get.

Description: If you want colour, here is some colour. A loose and impressionistic portrait of Bo, the dogue de Bordeax or French mastiff. Using watercolour and ink over a charcoal sketch, I chose a pose to work from taken at an angle from below his eye line which helps give an indication of his size. I've used every colour in the book apart from his natural colouring, the splashes and runs of paint give an impression of movement as if he is shaking his giant head.
Description: This is a watercolour painting based on 2 reference photos. One of my reference photographs, taken by Sharon Whitley, I divided in the middle via photoshop and used one half only for the two outside faces, flipping one image horizontally. This was done to make my composition more symmetrical. Lastly I added the oxpecker birds to complete the scene.
