Here's a design that explains why: Most autistic people consider their autism a vital and intrinsic part of their whole identity; it's not something they can put down and walk away from. They're not "with" autism, they ARE Autistic! Many people in the autism community who are NOT autistic themselves, consider ABA to be the best therapy in the world for autistic people. Most "#actuallyautistic" people disagree; at best it's coercive, and at worst it's downright abusive. It doesn't stop people from being autistic; it only forces them into an unnatural mold that causes pain, depression, and sometimes even PTSD later in their lives. When interventions are needed, there are much better therapies available out there that are much more respectful of the client.
