Description: I started seeing these weird and wonderful ducknana lawn ornaments popping up all around my neighbourhood. I couldn’t get them out of my head… in fact I woke up in the middle of the night and had to google it! Turns out other people couldn’t stop thinking about them either. They are funny, and weird and so hard to resist! I knew I had to draw one. Please enjoy my version of the banana duck!
Description: “I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. They will come in and go out, and find pasture. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” John 10:9-10. Using just John 10:9 I created a gate and the verse is written to look like an old elegant iron gate. I love creating illustrations that go along with the verse, it’s a fun way to remember them! I also have this verse available with a plain white background if yellow isn’t your thing :) God bless!

Description: Arise, shine, for your light has come and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you. Isaiah 60:1 I loved using a faux gold foil look for this bible verse when I wrote it out by hand. So pretty and fitting for the context, I love all verses that have to do with light. My prayer that this encourages you
Description: The name of the Lord is a strong tower, the righteous run into it and are saved. Proverbs 18:10. For this one I tried something new by designing the handlettered text to wrap around other words. The tower illustration is digitallly done to look like an old solid tower with a watercolour and paint splattered look. As a kid I memorized this verse to a song and it has been a favourite to sing to my kids now. God is our refuge and strength, we can run to him with everything and anything, knowing he is like a strong tower - constant, unchanging and a our ultimate safe place. God Bless!
Description: “I will not forget you. behold, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands.” Isaiah 49:16. This verse is amazing! As I read through the Old Testament in the bible I see Jesus more and more, especially the book of Isaiah. Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever. This verse reminds me that he will never forget me,that my name is engraved on his hands along side the scars he took for me on the cross. Wow.
Description: I choose to handletter and illustrate “great is thy faithfulness” a beautiful classic hymn, based on the bible verse lamentations 3:22-23. The flower behind is a protea, no special significance, I just thought it was beautiful flower and wanted to draw it! It seemed to fit perfectly with this hymn for me.
Description: From the rising of the sun to its setting, the name of the LORD will be praised. Psalms 113:3 For this bible verse I chose to illustrate it with a setting sun and mountains. It actually reminds me of summer camp as a kid (which was great!) and it gives me a nostalgic feeling. Whatever I’m doing - whatever season of life I’m in- it’s a great reminder for me to Praise the Name of the Lord - along with creation!

Seek him first above all things, draw near to him and he will draw near to you. Man, he is awesome. This illustration has a vintage feel, which was fun to create, I loved working inside the circle format.... i’d like to explore these drawing ideas more. I create these handlettered drawings for myself as visual aid to memorize the verses that sing to me. My prayer is that they would be used by God to get to your heart as well ❤️

Description: “Be still and know that I am God” Psalm 46:10 This bible verse is a huge reminder for me, to stop and listen. Too often my day is so full of distractions - three young boys (one who I’m in the middle of potty training) - that moments with God don’t come unless I am deliberate about them. Since my boys were babies I chose to make a choice that I needed some quiet time too in my day, which happened when they napped. Now that regular nap time is a thing of the past I still encourage my boys to have some independent quiet time in their rooms, for about an hour a day, where they can read, craft or play. I use this hour to dive into the bible and spend some uninterrupted time in prayer. Since I have started doing this regularly God has open...
