Description: On my recent trip to Japan I was extremely inspired by the majesty of Mount Fuji! I decided to do "31 Views of Mt. Fuji" as my theme for this year's Inktober. All the paintings are done with Sumi Ink and are based on my photos that I took while in Japan ^-^ The golden grains along the lake were really quite lush and intriguing. They stood taller than me, reaching almost to the top of the mountain.

I wondered how much trouble we would be in if we just borrowed one for an hour or two? In general, seeing people leave their bikes (and boats) unlocked was quite a stark difference to life in New York.

It was quite a treat that we weren't expecting. We never stayed at a hostel before but it was spacious and clean, and very cozy. I wished we could have stayed longer, I could sit on that roof for the whole week haha

The trails leading up to the summit call to me, but since it was September they were closed. The climbing season lasts for only a couple short months, before the weather gets too dangerous for hiking. I think next time I'll try to reach the top.

The tall lonely peak of Mount Fuji rising right over the first layer of clouds. I was awestruck, and then I felt a tinge of cold dread... would the weather even be clear enough to even see the mountain up close?

We were thrilled to find there were still plenty of flowers to oggle at. These ones were beautiful groupings of tiny, four-leafed purple flowers that I'm not quite sure what the name of is.

We woke up to a perfectly clear view and immediately took the bus to the other side of the lake. We were rewarded with this magnificent view just as the clouds were perfectly surrounding the mountain and golden waves of grass waved in the wind. The lake was still, save for a slight warm breeze, hinting at the hot day to come!
