Nodding Donkeys A pair of green pumpjacks stands under a cloudy blue sky, which might suggest they are part of an oil extraction site. Enclosed by metal fencing, the mechanical structures give an impression of an industrial operation amidst a natural environment. A pumpjack is the overground drive for a reciprocating piston pump in an oil well. It is used to mechanically lift liquid out of the well if there is not enough bottom hole pressure for the liquid to flow all the way to the surface. The arrangement is often used for onshore wells. Pumpjacks are common in oil-rich areas.

Grand Central Station, New York, USA I present to you a long exposure of the inside of New York's Grand Central Station. As this is a long exposure you will notice the movement of people appearing like a ghostly image compared to the people stood still while the shutter was open. I nearly missed the hot dog seller right in front of me, as I was too busy looking at the reflections. By Paul Thompson Photography
