Tapestries
Description: Since high school, Oingo Boingo has remained my favorite band. They evoke all manner of imagery: skulls, spiders, and of course, a killer horn section! The art from their original albums and merch were always vibrant and fun to look at which was exactly my goal with this piece. A tribute to Oingo Boingo themselves while still channeling my own unique style.
Description: Flying high over the night sky, Witchbee brings her own special blend of magic in the light of the full moon! While most little bees are sleeping below, Witchbee takes this time to collect the pollen from her favorite purple flower: deadly nightshade. If you are fortunate enough to catch a glimpse of her and your eyes meet, she’ll be sure to wave her star-wand and bring you a little luck!
Description: When a mysterious new love interest turned out to be Sadie the horse, Hamilton was anything BUT thrilled. These two were never meant to be, but that doesn't stop Sadie from teasing the poor portly pig about it from time to time. Based on Phil Machi's "Livestock" comic strip, this awkward moment captures the sassy comedy of these star-crossed lovers.
Description: A man pushes his shopping cart across The Store only to find a mysteriously placed puppet theatre. The characters at play inside seem to be mocking his every movement, but he can't be sure as to how or why. This moment of pure confusion is brought to life with characters from Phil Machi's "Retail Sunshine" comic strip series.
Description: Ever try to explain something to someone and they JUST. DON'T. GET. IT? Does it well up inside you until all your patience turns to molten lava and the only way left to reach them is to grab their fat little face, look them square in the eyes, and -- oh! No? Yeah, me neither. Inspired by Phil Machi's comic strip, "Retail Sunshine", this image captures one such moment in time.
