Description: Established in 1913 by Chicago investment banker H.M. Byllesby, Deep Rock Oil Company was a petroleum company best known for its network of service stations throughout the Midwest. Deep Rock pumped and refined its own crude in Oklahoma, producing gasoline, motor oil, and other lubricants that were sold exclusively in its branded service stations. In 1955, Kerr-McGee acquired Deep Rock, primarily to expand its service station network.
