Description: From my Aliens in April 2025 Drawing Challenge, creating aliens to fill my Forsaken Stars Universe, this year the drawing prompts were inspired by Japanese Mythology and Folklore. The first prompt, “Kitsune,” explores a fox like humanoid with nine tails, with a pair of horns for good measure.

Description: Aliens in April 2025 drawing challenge prompt 14. Janjanbi - Fire balls, or more accurately, ghost lights. This is a race of what might be called micro-stars, often deciding to possess the body of another race, giving the host the appearance of having a flaming head. Not usually prone to violence, once betrayed, they can become very put upon and seek vengeance for a thousand years, visiting terror and destruction upon their foes, and for generations of their descendants.

Description: Inspired by an important artist friend of mine, I asked her what kind of mermaid she might be. She replied, "A hippie mermaid!" So, for Mermay 2022, I drew this tie-dye-skinned, flower-powered mermaid.

Description: From the Drawing Challenge Aliens in April 2022, this alien concept was based on the prompt Respiration. This alien race has the advantage of being able to breathe anywhere: land, sea, and even space for a span of time.

Description: Inspired by the March of Robots Art Challenge Prompt "Paint" this is REV-1212 a droid designed to inspire revolution through graffiti art, corporate espionage, and (mostly) non-violent protest.

Description: Beryl (they/them), an Aerospace Force Ranger, is the sole survivor of the crash landing of the Colony Scout Ship Ashland. They must now hike across a harsh alien landscape to reach a droid outpost and send an S.O.S. to Aerospace Command that future colonists of Tenwan will have dangerous competition.

Description: The Green Feet are an alien race in Forsaken Stars, phasmatodeans, or stick bug people. This one is named Palo, which is Spanish for stick. Created during my Aliens in April art Challenge in 2020, to create more personal creatures for my Forsaken Stars comic.

Description: Cassiopeia is a member of the Council of Other Races in the webcomic Forsaken Stars. She uses wormholes in the shape of rainbows to traverse the galaxy.

Description: Azzi, Space Vampire, has lived for millenia, but one of his favorite eras was when he was a Rock God in the 80s and early 90s. He longs for those carefree, violent metal days again.
