Pillows
Description: I have taken a few more artistic liberties with the story here. So this is the acid spitting hydra who grows 2 heads each time one is severed. Battling him is my ginger ninja Minerva, Goddess of wisdom, strategic warfare, commerce and crafts (yay). She is naked and red headed as I want her to look exposed and vulnerable (she is at high risk of melanoma without adequate sun protection).
Description: Ovaries flop about all over the place in your pelvis. Sometimes if they’re heavy and enlarged with cysts they can get stuck, twisting off blood supply. My observations lead me to believe this hurts like fuck. I remember seeing one once, we put the camera in and there was this massive black nasty looking thing. We untwisted it and it slowly turned a lovely shade of pink.
Description: Neuropathic pelvic pain - so many causes: endometriosis, adenomyosis, pelvic inflammatory disease, previous surgery, traumatic delivery etc. Not forgetting other conditions such as vulvodynia, which we don’t know enough about. All sucky and miserable Do not recommend 0/5 stars.
Description: I think my little woodland placental abnormalities might be a bit too vague, but this is Placenta Praevia. This if when the placenta grows over the opening of the cervix this can cause massive bleeding and potentially death for both. So my chocolate box ducklings are being threatened by the lurking gross AF eels. An eel touched me once while I was swimming, I’m 90% sure I walked on water getting out of that creek. ?
Description: This was inspired by Monica Helms transgender flag a friend had suggested I look at. I read about her reasoning behind it and liked it, so I used her colours to represent the blue and pink stripes of traditional male and female and the undefined uterus in the white. The uterus has little definition so I’m hoping it can work for those who have one but shouldn’t and vice versa. The cherry blossom represents beauty and fragility (as well as looking a little like vulvas) and the foxgloves are a plant that can be both healing or poison (an are undeniably phallic. The meaning in the flowers are not related to their colours. In the uterus itself I’ve also mixed the white in the leaves with a pale, barely discernible green for growth and new ...
Description: Not many things make me as angry as child abuse. I love my job, but hate this part of it. I’ve seen the damage that’s been done to children and the damage that carries on into adulthood. Here I’ve used anemones which is “forsaken” in the meaning of flowers and made them red. I’ve carried on my blacked and burnt idea from Raped and tried to show the damaged child inside the adult. I am a little diffident about the result. It’s too pretty and not ugly and nasty enough. But then its the act that's ugly, not the child.
Description: Endometrial hyperplasia is when the lining of the uterus (endometrium) thickens, this can turn into uterine cancer. Risks for it are things like: never having children, PCOS, being overweight, early age of first period/ late age of menopause, and some medications like tamoxifen for breast cancer treatment. If you ever get any bleeding or even a brown discharge after menopause go get it checked out. Even if it’s before menopause and your periods get heavier or you get bleeding between periods or after sex. Usually it’s ok but occasionally it can be something nasty like this fucker.
Description: I cannot help but feel that gargoyles spewing our blood and bile are accurate AF for this topic. Also nice portentous crow and lurking crocodile for hint of danger. I want you to look at it and think: “that’s a completely unnecessary variety of fluids” and “boarding school does sound like a great idea”.
