In an outer suburb along the new NW Metro Line is a station stop called Bella Vista and just a short walk from it behind the long row of office and shop buildings there is a creek with a path along it . To hinder flash flooding and water erosion further down stream and to preserve and attract birds a couple of wiers were made deepening the creek into linked ponds. Thats where I took this shot from the bank of a pond.

Natural Sculpture ! Look at the lovely patterns erosion and chemistry and geological changes have made in this simple lovely peeble!

Tucked away downhill from North Sydney is a small suburb called lavender Bay with a park and some of the trees therein are Australia's beloved migrant Jacarandas. They do have one drawback. They shed their blossoms which tend to decay into a brown mush. However they are absolutely gorgeous while on the trees and freshly fallen so they look like purple snow on the ground. The overcast day when I took this actually helped catch the purple color.

There was no audible sound but these two I swear were gossiping while cogrooming each other. If testing ever reveals cockatoos can communicate by infrasound I will not be surprised. Normally cresting like that is a sign of being surprised or annoyed but in this case they were grooming each other and trying to get their feathers dry after rain.

The thing about Jacaranda is as well as looking beautiful on trees the blossoms fall and cover the ground below so thickly its like snow While Jacarandas are an imported tree they have well and truly acclimatised to Sydney! You may have heard of a famous street of trees in Kirribili Next November catch the train to North Sydney use teh south exit and walk down hill to Lavender Bay park. The trees there are just as gorgeous as those at Kirribili !

water and tide are they irrestistable forces evn the mass of this shell is moved by them through the heavy wet sand

okay there is to my knowledge no actual Spark Nebula but I chose the name to suggest these are young energetic suns still forming

i think and wonder if ripple patterns like these inspired calligraphers ?

i love the way the ripples in the water contrast with the straighter lines of the reeds and the solid black of the birds body

High Tide at the lagoon the breakwater creating the lagoon was suppose to stabilise the river banks and deepen the river entrance didnt work but it creates great photo opportunities for photographers
