Because they are something like illusions from his subconscious, not only creatures to take the score." — Masahiro Ito Ito drew inspiration for the design of the nurses' attire from The Exorcist III, Jacob's Ladder, and bondage outfits. What I'm most fascinated with is how their heads are supposedly covered with latex masks that are filled with blood + how the mouth is actually Mary's... sheesh!
Description: FUN FACT: They each have an ambiguous red square-shaped substance around their mouth, implying that they have either coughed up blood or have been feeding on a bloody carcass. This substance could be blood, paint, or make-up. The Bubble Head Nurses in Silent Hill 2 also have red squares over their mouths, which may be an homage.
