The Gloster Meteor was Great Britain's first operational Jet fighter. Although it only just made it out the blocks during world war 2 it was a solid design that kicked off the Jet age in the UK.

The worlds first operational jet fighter fielded by the Luftwaffe in world war 2. This design is based on a historical photographic in the public domain taken by a member of the American armed forces. The plane is unpainted as supplies at the time were very low and the need for the fighter in combat was high so plane were rushed into service without a colour scheme.

Designed by the Hawker aircraft company the Hurricane saw active service for the Royal Air force during world war 2. This image is a Vector artwork design based on a photograph I took of a fully airworthy Hurricane fighter plane.

When I was a kid this was the first Air-fix model plane I made. First flown in 1939 this interesting fighter looks back to a time when gun turrets on small aircraft was the done thing. The changing nature of war unfortunately lead to a mauling at the hands of day fighters who learned the plane couldn't shoot forward. It ended up all in black and flying at night where it was an effective weapon against night bombing.

The Focke Wulf 190 was a fear adversary in the skies over Europe during ww2. The D model was the last evolution in the main production series and was designed to fly at high altitude. This design is based on war time imagery in the public domain.
