Description: As I sat outside of JJ Bean Coffee at Commercial Drive and 4th Ave, on December 31st, 2020, I realized how much it looked like Van Gogh's Cafe Terrace at Night, so I had to start drawing. I brought my sketch home and painted it the next day, completed on January 1st, 2021. You can see that patrons are wearing masks. Everyone is outside because due to Covid regulations there was no seating indoors. It was cold and drizzly but there was still a New Year's holiday vibe. Across the street in the background is an electrical box, but I think it looks like the Tardis, by accident. I wasn't trying to copy Van Gogh just noticed how the scene was so similar.
