So, growing up I knew of two different famous men with the same name. Mike Myers, the comedian and actor best known for "Wayne's World" and ,of course, the "Austin Powers" movies. Then, there is Michael Myers, the serial killer in the "Halloween" movies. When I first saw a Halloween VHS tape with the name Michael Myers on it as a kid, I was confused for a few seconds. I thought, "Does Mr. Myers have a night job I don't know about? I thought he was a comedic actor." Well, I found out they were two completely different people. One is fictional and the other is not. So, from this memory, I was inspired to create this design. Because Myers character, Austin Powers, is known as the "International Man of Mystery", I thought that I could play on words for the killer Michael Myers and thus "National Man of Misery" was created! I mean, he looks miserable and causes misery for others, so I thought it would be an appropriate fit for him! The design also has another one of my original woodcut block prints of Michael Myers. I really hope you enjoy it!

My continued love for horror and monsters shines through with this concept. This design also has another one of my original woodcut block prints. The block print is of a werewolf. The concept mainly acts as a warning of the full moon because we all know what happens when a full moon is out! Enjoy!

This design really illustrates one of my passions, and that is horror movies. I love them! I am especially fond of the old movie monsters like Dracula, the Wolf Man, and in this case, Gillman, better known as the Creature from the Black Lagoon. What is also very special about this design is it showcases part of a woodcut block print that I created of Gillman. When it comes to the world of art and design, I believe that sometimes it is best to step away from the computer to get some of the the best inspiration. It also makes for a well-rounded and creative experience. Once I completed the woodcut, I scanned it and experimented with it in Photoshop and Illustrator. My style is very rough and chaotic yet controlled. The rough and chaotic mark marking is contained by the starburst-like shape behind it. The font selection also helps resemble that rough mark making style. When it comes to the tagline on the shirt, I thought back to the plot of the 'Creature from the Black Lagoon' film and remembered that it was set in an Amazonian jungle. The tagline is supposed to be both humorous and unsettling. It is a play on the plot of the film which will evoke one of two emotions to people who are at least familiar with the film. People will either laugh because of the fact that the tagline is welcoming tourists to a place that has a monstrous creature or they will feel unsettled also because of the fact that the tagline is welcoming tourists to a place that has a monstrous creature. Either way, I believe people will enjoy it!

This design continues to illustrate my passion for horror movies. It is an ode to Wes Craven's "Nightmare on Elm Street." The design has one of my original woodcut block prints of the notorious Freddy Krueger. I scanned the block print, and placed in on a t-shirt format with other graphic elements. The concept behind this shirt is humorous. The Elm Street neighborhood is basically terrorized by Freddy Krueger, so naturally I decided to create a fictional neighborhood watch for Elm Street. This is humorous because really the only way you can see Freddy is if you are asleep. This concept is also symbolic of the parents of Elm Street who took a stand against Krueger before he became the dream killer. I hope you enjoy it!

This design is inspired by my love for horror films as well as my love for the Predator films. Amongst all of the weapons and different gadgets that the Predator has, the most striking part that scared me when I was younger was the big reveal of his ugly yet scary face. So, I decided to base my design off his face and not the mask. I hand drew the head using a tablet in Adobe Illustrator. I also drew and painted all of the colors and values. I also included some slime behind the face because his blood is a green slime. Enjoy!
