Description: The Bible repeatedly condemns rulers who fail to protect the poor and the weak. Why, then, do so many professing Christians condemn those who want laws that protect the poor -- calling them "socialists", "communists", or "far left"? No ruler who receives God's praise will let businesses do as they please. Every ruler who receives God's praise restrains those who want to harm or neglect others.
