Description: Hydes Mill, built in 1850, is located north of Ridgeway, WI (about 30 miles wow of Madison). This mill is powered by a wooded waterwheel (which apparently still works). Th mill, dam, and mill pond are surrounded by woodlands and prairie. This is a hilly area of Wisconsni, untouched by the glaciers during the last ice age - and hence called the Driftless Area.
