Description: The Holy Spirit (or Holy Ghost) is the third member of the Holy Trinity: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit; each Person being God. Two symbols from the New Testament canon are associated with the Holy Spirit in Christian iconography: a winged dove, and tongues of fire. Each depiction of the Holy Spirit arose from different historical accounts in the Gospel narratives; the first where the Holy Spirit was said to descend in the form of a dove as the voice of God spoke. The second being from the day of Pentecost, fifty days after Pascha where the descent of the Holy Spirit came upon the Apostles as as tongues of fire. β
Description: The first man and woman are in God's Garden of Eden, where all creation is vegetarian and there is no violence. They are permitted to eat of all the trees except one, the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. The woman is tempted by a talking serpent to eat the forbidden fruit, and gives some to the man, who eats also. Contrary to popular myth she does not beguile the man, who appears to have been present at the encounter with the serpent. β God curses all three, the man to a lifetime of hard labor followed by death, the woman to the pain of childbirth and to subordination to her husband, and the serpent to go on his belly and suffer the enmity of both man and woman.β

Description: Bear folklore is widespread, especially in the far northern hemisphere. It is not surprising that this awesome beast was one of the first animals to be revered by our ancestors. From as far back as the Palaeolithic (around 50,000 years ago) there is evidence of a bear cult in which the bear was seen as lord of the animals, a god, and even the ancestor of humans. Various species of bear played a central role in many shamanic practices of the north, and brown bears were part of our native forests as recently as the 10th century, when hunting and habitat loss drove them to extinction.
