Description: The red carnation is the Portuguese symbol for freedom. Freedom of the people, freedom from fascism. It's a symbol that gathers even more importance now in this political climate.

Description: A representation of the kanji 読む (yomu), which means to read. The girl is reading a dictionary, 辞書 (jisho). This illustration is part of a series on Japanese kanji from when I was studying Japanese a bit more seriously. I will paint and put available my most favourite from that series.
