Description: Schrödinger’s Cat is a thought experiment – where as a result a hypothetical cat is said to be both alive and dead at the same time. Wikipedia explains it much better than I can if you are curious. Reading about Schrödinger’s Cat I realised what a striking image this would make – to draw a cat which is simultaneously alive and not alive. No cats were harmed in the making of this piece, it’s only a thought experiment guys :)
Description: Hand-inked with a calligraphy pen on paper + digitally coloured in Photoshop. I’ve chosen to draw a sparrow because this bird is quite special to me. I was a tiny kid and my dad liked to call me ‘sparrow’. Sparrow is a continuation of my ‘Mandala Animals’ Series of drawings, and a slight evolution of the style. For this piece, the mandala style is toned down and I have chosen a more realistic colour palette. It still maintains the strong, tattoo-art inspired line work and flat, graphic colour application.

Description: Turtles are magnificent creatures. They each have a unique shell pattern, which as I found, works really nicely with the mandala animal style I’ve been working with lately. This is one of my most ambitious drawings to date. The original is quite big, and pretty detailed! It took aaages to digitally colour.

Description: Hand-inked with a calligraphy pen on watercolour paper, then digitally coloured using Photoshop. Another piece in my ‘Mandala Animals’ Series. Homage to my homeland. Kangaroos are magnificent, and dangerous animals. 10/10 would not fight one.

Description: Hand-inked with a calligraphy pen, then digitally coloured in Photoshop. Part of my Mandala Animals Series. Foxes are gorgeous. Such mysterious, engaging eyes. I dotted her fur with little emeralds to bring out the green in her eyes. And the whole time I was colouring this, I had “What Does the Fox Say?” stuck in my head…. Secret of the fox, ancient mystery, somewhere deep in the woods, I know you’re hiding! What is your sound? Will we ever know?

Description: I sketched this after celebrating 4th of July in America. My hubby said 'draw America', so I did :) So this is my wink to the United States of America – a bald eagle devouring a delicious hot dog. It was hand-inked with a calligraphy pen, and digitally coloured in Photoshop. I’m super proud of this one, I looked up lots of references to get the feathers arranged correctly. Worth it!
