Description: Laelaps was a Greek mythological dog that never failed to catch what it was hunting. In one version of Laelaps' origin, it was a gift from Zeus to Europa. The hound was passed down to King Minos. Procris's husband, Cephalus, decided to use the hound to hunt the Teumessian fox, a fox that could never be caught. And so Laelaps hunted and the fox ran, forever and ever, for eternity - their journey blazened into the sky and into the stars.

Description: i think a lot about aang being the last of his own, surrounded by relics and realizing he's a relic too. i like to think that when the firebenders came - they smashed the heads of the airbender statues much like the way archeologists would smash the heads of egyptian statues.
