Description: Featured in: You've Got it, We want it - Everything old is a new Treasure - Preserving History Dedicated to Lenwood "Pete" Adrews 1915-2011. I first met Pete in 2005 when he was 90 years young and at his invitation visited his mill in 2006 when these photos were taken. An old gear with only a few Lignum vitae teeth remaining rest by the window of an old sawmill in Paris Maine. Why wooden teeth you ask? The noise from metal on metal gears would have made an already loud saw mill unbearably loud. The Mill was a casket factory and dates back to the second half of the 17th century and was owned and run by five generations of the Andrews family.
