Description: That face. That amazing, beautiful, gorgeous face. I cheated and moved the face to a 1920s body. The layers upon layers in this: an altered photograph of woods to look like a painting, deep space, old photo of a closed roadside cafe, the medieval siren, the strange man-girl selling meats in the background, the egg.
Description: Illustrated by Brazilian artist Henrique Alvim Corrêa for the French 1906 edition of War of the Worlds. From the Public Domain Review website, “‘Alvim Corrêa’, Wells said after the artist had died, ‘did more for my work with his brush than I with my pen’.” Presented here with my own humble flourishes.
Description: To quote NASA: "This NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope Picture of the Week features NGC4826 — a spiral galaxy located 17 million light-years away in the constellation of Coma Berenices (Berenice’s Hair). This galaxy is often referred to as the “Black Eye”, or “Evil Eye”, galaxy because of the dark band of dust that sweeps across one side of its bright nucleus."
Description: Pluto is four billion miles away. Its average temperature is -387 degrees Fahrenheit. It's largest moon, Charon, is half Pluto's size and causes Pluto to wobble in its orbit. Why has it been downgraded to a dwarf planet? It isn't big enough to assert "orbital dominance". There is a lot of crap around Pluto and it can't clean up its neighborhood.

Description: This collage is made of images from a French Silk sample book, very kindly digitalized and posted by the heroic people at Public Domain Review (a pdf copy of the book is available for free download). I selected those samples I thought very vibrant and fun, ran them through some filters to revive the colors, and assembled them here in a very organic, messy tribute. Backpacks, duffel bags and leggings available now.
Description: A medieval bestiary was a book that catalogued all of the beasts of the world, similar to an encyclopedia. It also included religious explanations as to why certain beasts existed. Here is a collection of four of the more interesting and beautiful I've encountered: (clockwise) a centaur, a two-headed serpent (possibly a dragon), a bat, and a siren. The borders are also of the period, but drawn by Victorian artists.
