Description: Vajrasattva is the sixth vajra holder and a dharma prince of the five Buddhas. He is a prominent deity of the Esoteric Buddhism and literally the intangible creator of Tantrayana Buddhism. Vajrasattva has the power to withdraw calamity. His famous Hundred-syllable mantra is regarded as an essential mantra for purification as well as to offset any imperfection of a yoga session.
Description: In Buddhism, the vajra is a symbol of the indestructible, immutable nature of reality and of the enlightened mind. It represents the power of compassion and wisdom, and is often associated with the god-king of the tantra, Vajradhara. The vajra is also used as a ritual implement, held in the hand during ceremonies and practices, to symbolize the indestructible nature of one's own consciousness. Description: Ancient 17th-century image of Panjaranata Mahakala - the protector for the Shri Hevajra cycle of Tantras. The iconography and rituals are found in the 18th chapter of the Vajra Panjara Tantra (canopy, or pavilion) a Sanskrit language text from India, and an exclusive 'explanatory tantra' to the Hevajra Tantra itself. It is from the name of this tantra that this specific form of Mahakala is known. 'Vajra Panjara' means the vajra enclosure, egg-shaped, created from vajra scepters large and small - all sizes, completely surrounding a Tantric Buddhist mandala. The name of the Tantra is Vajra Panjara and the name of the form of Mahakala taught in this Tantra is also Vajra Panjara. The full name for the protector is Vajra Panjara Nata Mahakala.
Description: Vajrapani is known for his power to protect the dharma as well as to overcome obstacles. He is dark-blue in color, three eyes with a ferocious look. His body is surrounded by the wisdom flame of Prajna and adorned with necklaces, naga-serpents and tiger skin loincloth. His left hand holds an iron chain at chest level while his right hand raised and holds a vajra scepter, both hands make the gesture of Tarjani mudra to ward off evil.
