Description: In this collection of artworks I mix together the beauty of classic Hollywood stars and the beauty of the most famous art portraits. The search for the right pictures is never easy. It’s not just a matter of finding the “perfect angle”, but often a need to find that very same detail without which the artwork wouldn’t be the same. Drafts are endless, but the end result always pays off the hard work: fascinating, beautiful, mesmerizing, hypnotic, just plain weird…you name it. Each mashup adds a new level of perception to faces and paintings we are all familiar with, in the effort to give a new light to their timeless beauty.
Description: Girl with a Pearl Earring (Dutch: Meisje met de parel)[1][2] is an oil painting by Dutch Golden Age painter Johannes Vermeer, dated c. 1665. Going by various names over the centuries, it became known by its present title towards the end of the 20th century after the earring worn by the girl portrayed there.[3] The work has been in the collection of the Mauritshuis in The Hague since 1902 and has been the subject of various literary and cinematic treatments.
