War Is Peace Merch
Description: War is Not Healthy is based on a poster created by Lorraine Schneider in response to the outcry over the Vietnam War. The artists’ intention was to purposely give it the appearance that a child had created it. This unique style created one of the most iconic anti-war posters of all time that was a common sight in dorm rooms and on protest signs throughout the Vietnam era and beyond.
Description: The Ministry of Truth (Newspeak: Minitrue) is the ministry of propaganda. As with the other ministries in the novel, the name Ministry of Truth is a misnomer because in reality it serves the opposite: it is responsible for any necessary falsification of historical events. However, like the other ministries, the name is also apt because it decides what "truth" is in Oceania. As well as administering "truth", the ministry spreads a new language amongst the populace called Newspeak, in which, for example, "truth" is understood to mean statements like 2 + 2 = 5 when the situation warrants. In keeping with the concept of doublethink, the ministry is thus aptly named in that it creates/manufactures "truth" in the Newspeak sense of the word.
Description: Immortalized by John Lennon and Yoko Ono as a bold message of peace, the “War is Over – If You Want It” poster transcends generations. This design brings the classic statement to life with faithful visual style, now available in a format you can wear or display. A powerful choice for those who carry ideals of love, protest, and art—visibly and proudly.
Description: Nineteen Eighty-Four is a rare work that grows more haunting as its futuristic purgatory becomes more real. Published in 1949, the book offers political satirist George Orwell's nightmarish vision of a totalitarian, bureaucratic world and one poor stiff's attempt to find individuality. The brilliance of the novel is Orwell's prescience of modern life—the ubiquity of television, the distortion of the language—and his ability to construct such a thorough version of hell. Required reading for students since it was published, it ranks among the most terrifying novels ever written.
Description: "Civil disobedience is not our problem. Our problem is civil obedience. Our problem is that people all over the world have obeyed the dictates of leaders…and millions have been killed because of this obedience…Our problem is that people are obedient all over the world in the face of poverty and starvation and stupidity, and war, and cruelty. Our problem is that people are obedient while the jails are full of petty thieves and the grand thieves are running the country. That’s our problem." - Howard Zinn

This compelling tribute to George Orwell's classic novel "1984" serves as a powerful commentary on the manipulation of truth and the perversion of language. In a world where the line between war and peace is blurred, my logo and poster design challenge the prevailing narrative that justifies conflicts in the name of freedom.
