William Burroughs Merch
Description: A colorful pop art-style portrait features American beatnik writer William S. Burroughs wearing a hat, with bold, contrasting colors filling different sections of his face and clothing. The combination of vibrant purples, yellows, blues, and greens creates a striking visual impact.
Description: Some films are watched. Others are survived. Naked Lunch (1991) is the impossible adaptation David Cronenberg made of William S. Burroughs' impossible novel — a work that blended hallucination, paranoia, surrealism and the Beat experience into something no studio wanted to fund and no sane director should have attempted. Cronenberg was not a sane director. That's why it worked. A talking typewriter, a city called Interzone, an exterminator who becomes a secret agent. Dream logic, nightmare prose, cinema from another planet. For those who know that the best works of art are the ones nobody asked for and everyone needed.
