One of my favourite spots to photograph in New York City. If you are in New York, Check out the Vessel, a tourist attraction in Manhattan's Hudson Yards neighborhood. The Vessel is an art structure and visitor attraction built as part of the Hudson Yards Redevelopment Project in New York City. This view is inside the vessel at night. The stair levels provided a series of interesting geometric shapes for this photograph.

Painting of Common Camellia or Camellia japonica. The rose of winter, flower Camellias are evergreen shrubs with dark green slightly waxy leaves which flower from autumn through to winter and then into spring – depending on species and variety.

Discovered this stack of lobster traps at Covehead Harbour in Prince Edward Island Canada. Lots of colour here. Do the lobster traps reminded you of waterfront condo designs? The traps are loaded on the wharf for 'set day' - the start of the lobster season. There are two lobster seasons on PEI. Monarch Butterfly emerging from chrysalis. After a few hours allowing for the wings to dry, the adult butterfly will take flight. Monarch butterflies are an iconic species, easily recognized by their large and vibrant orange wings. The brilliantly-coloured Monarch is a summer breeder in many areas of southern Canada, and most Canadian-born adults head to the highlands of central Mexico to overwinter. It takes four to five generations of Monarchs to make it to Canada during the spring migration. I

Forsythia bushes are among the first plants of spring to burst forth in flowers. Forsythia flowers precede their leaves, which means you get a good look at the blooms with no foliage to block your view. The delicate flowers are 4 lobed. These spring-blooming shrub knockouts are easy to grow and quite adaptable. Lasting a brief period before a spring rain drops the bright yellow flowers to the ground; enjoy the show while you can!

The pileated woodpecker (Dryocopus pileatus) is native to North America. This insectivorous bird is an inhabitant of deciduous forests in eastern North America, the Great Lakes, the boreal forests of Canada, and parts of the Pacific Coast. It is a very large woodpecker with a long neck and a triangular crest that sweeps off the back of the head. The bill is long and chisel-like, about the length of the head.

Stinkhorns are amazing mushrooms, notorious for popping up suddenly and unexpectedly in urban settings. Phallus impudicus, known colloquially as the common stinkhorn, is a widespread fungus recognizable for its foul odor and its phallic shape when mature. It is a common mushroom in Europe and North America, where it occurs in habitats rich in wood debris such as forests and mulched gardens.

A lone tree on a grey November day provides a moody scene. The fog provided a soft and dispersed light. I pulled over for this, as the sculpture of the old and gnarled tree made a striking silhouette. The crow was a welcome addition that added to scene. View of a colorful male Eastern Bluebird on nesting box. The males are vivid, deep blue above and rusty or brick-red on the throat and breast. Eastern Bluebirds perch erect on wires, posts, and low branches in open country, scanning the ground for prey. The Eastern bluebirds are mostly insectivorous or omnivorous birds in the order of Passerines in the genus Sialia of the thrush family. Bluebirds commonly use nest boxes as well as old woodpecker holes.

The wooden doors of this shed caught my eye during a garden tour around Creemore in Central Ontario. I thought I could create something interesting with the weathered boards as it had a lot of character and texture. There is something timely about an old shed. It has stored many items over the years and the green vines reveal that the doors have not been open for a while. What's inside behind the doors? Is it a vintage garden tools from the past? Perhaps an old farm tractor! Here the selected green on the black and white photo makes an interesting composition for your wall art and home décor. The body of a cicada is similar to that of a violin or a guitar, in that much of it consists of empty, air-filled spaces that act like a resonating chamber and amplify the sound they generate. The loud noise we hear is the male’s mating call—females are silent. Each species of cicada has its own mating call, which can range from soft clicking to loud buzzing.The cicadas are a superfamily, the Cicadoidea, of the insects in the order Hemiptera. They are in the suborder Auchenorrhyncha, along with smaller jumping bugs such as leafhoppers and froghoppers.
