The small resort of Fornells lies on the north coast of Menorca. It is famous for its seafood restaurants. Apparently King Carlos of Spain sails into Fornells bay occasionally to partake! One of the famous dishes is Caldereta de Ilagosta, meaning spiny lobster stew, delicious! Menorca is one of the Spanish Balearic Islands, and lies off the coast of Spain in the Western Mediterranean. Santa Eulalia del Rio (of the River) is named after the river that flowed down next to the town. This river is the only one in the Balearic islands, and played a very important role as it was used to run the water mills that ground the flour and was essential for commercialization of many crops. Nowadays, the river is almost completely dried up and runs only half a kilometre, but the walk along the remaining section is beautiful. Best viewed "LARGER".

The beautiful and very quiet Cala Mitjana Beach on Menorca’s South coast is a delight. Situated down a small rocky track off the road from Ferreries to Cala Galdana, on the left hand side just before Cala Galdana but at the end lies an idyllic south facing cove, bounded by wooded cliffs.
