The small resort of Fornells lies on the north coast of Menorca. It is famous for its seafood restaurants. Apparently King Carlos of Spain sails into Fornells bay occasionally to partake! Bellver Castle (Catalan: Castell de Bellver) is a circular castle on a hill near Palma de Mallorca on the Island of Majorca, Balearic Islands, Spain. It was built in the 14th century for King James II of Aragon. It was used as a military prison during the 18th and 19th centuries. It was again used as a prison in the 1950s. Now it is one of the main tourist attractions of the island. The intellectual and writer Gaspar Melchor de Jovellanos was one of the most famous prisoners of the castle. Santa Eulalia del Rio (of the River) is named after the river that flowed down next to the town. This river is the only one in the Balearic islands, and played a very important role as it was used to run the water mills that ground the flour and was essential for commercialization of many crops. Nowadays, the river is almost completely dried up and runs only half a kilometre, but the walk along the remaining section is beautiful. Best viewed "LARGER".

The beautiful and very quiet Cala Mitjana Beach on Menorca’s South coast is a delight. Situated down a small rocky track off the road from Ferreries to Cala Galdana, on the left hand side just before Cala Galdana but at the end lies an idyllic south facing cove, bounded by wooded cliffs.
