A new doodle / pattern inspired by the proteas growing in my garden. I really love them, such heavy, velvety, complex & detailed flowers; they are like sculptures. This is the second of four colour versions.

A hand drawn and painted floral pattern of retro / vintage-style purple flowers with a subtle canvas texture in desaturated purple, cream & brown tones.

I'm loving these colours together at the moment. A Moroccan style pattern in shades of navy blue, deep teal, dark red and burnt orange on pale grey & white, with delicate doodled details and textures.

Black and white ... obviously not myself today. : ) I love color so much, doing a pattern without color doesn't come easily to me, but sometimes I think it is good to work outside of my comfort zone.

This is Levi, three weeks old. The hands belong to his five big brothers: Jacob (18), Joshua (16), Johnny (13), Hudson (6) and Reilly (3). It is the cutest thing to have your teenage boys argue over whose turn it is to hold the baby... that's when they can get him away from ME, not to mention his big sisters who are always asking for a turn, too. Sometimes they let his Dad hold him, too... I created this using hand painted watercolor shapes combined with recent hand drawn / painted pattern designs of mine to make a colorful patchwork.
