I reproduced a fresco from a 3rd century BC Lucanian Tomb. the Lucanians were an indigenous italic people. Their art subsists mostly in painted vases and tomb walls paintings.

One of the 3 ladies pictures on the 4th century Fausta fresco in Trier, Germany. This one is thought to personify the beauty of Empress Fausta, wife of Emperor Constantine.

This is the 3rd variation of a design i created after a painted relief on the wall of a Pompeian villa. The earliest references to griffins come from ancient Persia where they were used widely as statues and symbols in palaces. They also had a special place in Persian literature as guardians of light. This one, tamed by the maiden, was inspired by a 1st century fresco from Pompeii

Pompeii Study 1

This cupid design is taken from a painting on plaster. The roman love god is depicted drawing his bow beneath the letters BAE (before anyone else) Perfect for the one you love for Valentine's.
