This painting was commissioned by one of my patrons who loves Alaska, and I released limited-edition prints of it. The image is of a K2 Aviation plane flying in front of Denali, the tallest peak in North America. The plane is a De Havilland Beaver, and has skis for landing on glaciers on Denali. This painting is of the frozen Talkeetna River and the Alaska Range, including Denali and Foraker. It was a truly magical day, my friends and I really enjoyed the growlers of beer from Denali Brewing Co. The best part of the trip was having a small campfire on the frozen river beach, while enjoying this magnificent view with a beer in my hand. During my flight on Alaska Airlines from Anchorage to Fairbanks on a beautiful day I looked out my window and saw Denali in all its glory. The view was so incredible that the pilot flew a bit closer to the mountain so we would all get a better view. So I decided to paint that incredible sight.
