Ospreys are magnificent birds and it is a great experience to see them hunting for fish. They swoop down and catch the unsuspecting fish in their talons as this one has just done, before flying away to a nearby tree or nest to enjoy it's catch.

The Osprey or Fish Hawk is common on almost every continent with the exception of Antarctica. Its primary meal is fish. Here in Montana they arrive in April and stay until mid to late October when their young are old enough to migrate.
