This drawing shows Gilgamesh fighting with a lion. Gilgamesh was the legendary king of Uruk and the main character of the "Epic of Gilgamesh", one of the oldest known literary works. In Mesopotamian mythology, Gilgamesh undergoes epic adventures and seeks immortality.
