For this years 'Summer in The Sun" photo competition, I wanted something striking, colourful and bright which depicted a highly relevant less bright *conservation topic right now...* and that of course, for me boiled down to the often overlooked humble bumble bee! Continued use of a systemic agricultural pesticide resembling 'nicotine' called 'neonicotinoids' or 'neonics' for short - are harming our bumble bee and honey bee populations and as a result, such loss of the pollinators, in whatever shape and form will have a catastrophic effect on our British 'country file' ecosystem and the food upon which we depend upon!
