Digitally Altered Kids Hoodies

The Boxed in Abstract was a monoprint I made using a gelli plate, fabric dyes and acrylics. After I had hand pulled it I felt that the colours were not as bright as I had intended them to be. I took a photograph of it and then played around a little on the computer and made some digitally altered brighter versions of the print that I feel are guaranteed to brighten up any dark corners!

I like the textured effect the fabric gives to the print. Although I like the original print, I recognize people have different colour preferences and so I have digitally altered the original print so as to offer a choice of colors to my customers, in this case bright yellow with pink.

A long time ago I did a pencil sketch of this statue of Uta von Naumberg. I have digitally altered and coloured it.

For the original photograph refer to Vintage 21st Birthday Photograph, which was a photograph I took of my Mum's 21st birthday key from 1947, which I found after she passed away. This version is that photo but I have given it a lighter and softer background and use photoshop to change some of the detail. I think it makes a nice 21st Birthday card for those who like vintage but with a bit of a modern twist. The key itself is painted in old gold and is made of wood, it has a frayed satin ribbon still attached and a little notebook full of the names of people who must have attended her 21st Birthday celebration.

This is a photograph of a piece of pottery that I did during a workshop devoted to traditional Indian pottery designs. The original work is on a flat terracotta tile and for Redbubble I have reproduced the tile's photo 5 times to create this digital patterned work. The tonal variations are not digital but are the actual glazing variations on the original piece of pottery.

I took a photo of some pipes stacked on a truck that was travelling in front of my car and played with it a little on photoshop to create a pattern.

This is a digitally altered version of a photo I took. Found this pretty golden one here in West Michigan lying in one of my flower beds early one evening, as the setting sun was hitting it just right. Without the sun on it, it was a fairly drab, nearly browned out leaf, with no much yellow left in it, but the sunset's rays just highlighted it beautifully.

"Fiery Beacon" combines a landscape photography shot of the "Little Sable Point Lighthouse" with one of my acrylic paint pours.

Just experimenting with Photoshop (again) using a photo I took of a Double Delight rose. Wanted to create a glowing sort of rose that could be used as a pattern as well.

This is a digitally altered version of The Boxed in Abstract - Original in which I have removed the colour to create a black and white image. It is fascinating to see how different the same image can look once you start manipulating the colours - you still have the same basic design but the appearance changes quite markedly. Anyway this image is for those who prefer things in black and white.

This is a much altered version of my hand drawn Aussie Tangle 15 - been doing a little bit more digital experimentation and it now bears little resemblance to the original work, but I'm happy with it.

This is a digital piece commemorating the struggle for women's rights. The sunflowers are for the suffragettes and the raised fist is for the feminists and the coat hanger is for those who have suffered and lost their lives.

A colorful feast for the eyes! This design was created by digitally altering and enhancing a photograph of a shirt that I tie-dyed. This one's a really beauty, if I do say so myself!

A flower-like pattern in rainbow colors perfect to brighten up any room or the shirt on your back.

For original refer to Thatched Cottage. As the original image was an olde worlde thatched english cottage I felt that digitally changing it to give the appearance of an early cyanotype photo print would offer someone an interesting alternative to the original coloured pen and watercolour wash painting. Also available in black and white now too.

Initially this work began as a watercolor to which I added a bird. I then edited the work digitally using Photoshop to create a symmetrical work.
