This is one of my favorite Sasquatch portraits from this year. Wolfie Love is the story of two forest friends who share their unconditional love with each other.

What began for me as a simple practice exercise to improve the realistic details of drawing eyes and skin, unexpectedly turned into much more when I suddenly sensed a male presence. This individual, who called himself Banjdo the Rock Mover began to instruct me step by step about changes that needed to be made to his portrait. Chensapa or Black Tree is one of the Sasquatch clan members who reside in the mountains west of Taos, New Mexico. He and his tribe are part of the bigfoot population found above 9000 feet elevation at the southern end of the Colorado Rockies. Black Tree received his name because, as a youngster, he witnessed lightning strike a tall pine very close to him and watched as it went up in flames, ending in nothing but a dark black spire pointing skyward. The power of the event struck him so hard he took on the name Black Tree or Chensapa.
